The Ernestina tree is characterized by vigorous or very vigorous growth. Flowering occurs in the middle of the third ten-day period of April, which is classified as late or medium-late. The plant has moderate susceptibility to fire blight.

The fruits are medium-sized, have a firm consistency, and are predominantly oblong-conical in shape. The ground color of the skin is whitish-yellow or green with an orange or brownish overcolor and a pronounced tendency for russeting in the basin area.
