The variety is a chance seedling that originated in the second half of the 19th century. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and forms a high-stem crown; it is adapted to dry sandy soils and possesses resistance to scab.

Harvest maturity occurs from late September to mid-October; fruits maintain consumer quality until spring. Fruits are medium-sized, round, light green, and turn yellow upon ripening with a silky-matte skin.

The flesh is light yellow, with a sweet-and-sour taste featuring notes of tartaric acid. The variety is considered multipurpose and is used fresh, for baking, and for making juices.
