The tree is characterized by moderate growth vigor and a compact bushy crown prone to spreading in width. Fruiting occurs mainly on spurs. The variety is demanding of growing conditions, preferring fertile, well-aerated soils and warm sites protected from severe frosts.
The fruits are medium to large in size and have characteristic five ribs at the calyx. Upon ripening, the skin becomes lemon-yellow, sometimes with a brownish-red blush. The flesh is firm, crisp, cream-white in color with a sweet-sour taste. The harvest is collected in October, and the fruits keep until the end of winter.
The variety is considered universal but is primarily used for culinary purposes, as it holds up well in baking. The tree has good resistance to scab. The variety is suitable for training as an espalier or for cultivation in dwarf forms.
