The variety is very old and belongs to the category of rare ones. Historically, there was confusion with other varieties bearing similar names in France; regional forms also exist, such as Løgæble fra Fejø. Currently, the variety is preserved primarily in genetic collections, including the Pometet collection at the University of Copenhagen.

Genetic research has confirmed the diploid ploidy of the variety (2N). For the purposes of pollination studies, the S-RNase alleles have been identified: S3 and S40. In a historical context, the variety is mentioned in connection with the use of fruit in pomiculture and the production of mead. Detailed agrotechnical characteristics and information on disease resistance are absent in publications.
