The variety is a synonym for the historical variety «Roter Stettiner» and is known by many names in Central European countries. The tree grows vigorously and large, entering into fruit-bearing late. Yields are characterized as moderate or irregular; the variety is resistant to difficult climatic conditions.
Fruits of medium or large size have a green-yellow skin with a red blush and juicy green-white flesh with a spicy taste. The variety is not considered a dessert apple, softens well during heat treatment, and is suitable for drying, winemaking, and cider production.
