The fruits are medium or large in size, spherical, slightly flattened in shape with a characteristic outgrowth at the stalk. The skin is tough, shiny, yellow in color with a dark raspberry blush. The flesh is crisp, sweet or moderately sweet-sour in taste, and the color varies from white to reddish or yellowish-greenish.

The variety possesses high frost resistance. It is resistant to apple canker and woolly aphid, but when grown in enclosed, poorly ventilated areas, it is prone to scab infection. The fruits are used both for fresh consumption and for juice production.
