The tree of this variety has medium vigor and is characterized by reliable annual fruiting. The fruits have a rounded, slightly uneven five-sided shape with pronounced ribs at the crown. The skin of the fruits is pale greenish-yellow, often covered with red-orange stripes and spots with patches of russeting.

The flesh of the fruit is yellowish, firm, and fine-grained. The variety is classified as late-summer or autumn; fruits ripen at the end of September and are capable of staying on the branches for a long time. The variety is used as a dessert apple for fresh consumption, as well as for cider production.

Synonyms for the variety include the names Margil, Fail-Me-Never, Neverfail, Small Ribston, and Munches Pippin.
