The tree is distinguished by vigorous growth and forms a broad, dense crown, reaching a height of 4 to 6 meters. Flowering is medium-early, with flowers having a white or pinkish hue. The variety is triploid and cannot serve as a pollinator for other apple trees. A tendency toward biennial bearing is noted.

Fruits are large or very large, weighing about 280 g, and have a ribbed or bumpy shape. The skin is smooth, colored yellow-green, sometimes with a blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, with a sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is primarily for processing, suitable for culinary use and juice production; fruits keep for up to five months.

The plant is winter-hardy and suitable for regions with a harsh climate. It possesses relative resistance to diseases, in particular, it is less susceptible to scab than the variety «Echter Boikenapfel». On heavy, wet soils, it may show sensitivity to apple canker, and due to the short pedicel, the fruits may drop.
