Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing Ontario and Cox’s Orange Pippin varieties. The fruits are of medium size and have a flat-round or round-conical shape. The skin is smooth, slightly greasy, yellow-green in color with a red-orange blush or marbling. The flesh is creamy-white or yellowish, with a balanced sweet taste with a slight acidity and a spicy aroma.

The tree is characterized as compact, 2–4 meters tall, with a semi-upright crown. The variety is a winter variety: harvest maturity occurs from late September to mid-October, and consumption is possible until March. The variety is prone to biennial bearing and requires regular pruning and fruit thinning to maintain fruit size.

The variety is demanding regarding growing conditions, prefers warm sunny locations with fertile soil, and is not suitable for high-altitude regions. A strong susceptibility to fire blight, weak to moderate resistance to scab and powdery mildew, as well as a predisposition to bitter pit in fruits are noted.
