There is a discrepancy between the historical variety described by Pastor Vøldike in the late 19th century and the modern material circulating in nurseries under this name. The modern form, according to DNA analysis, is related to the Cox’s Orange variety, which is attributed to mislabeling errors in the first half of the 20th century.

The modern variety belongs to the autumn maturity group; fruits are consumed in September and October. The fruits are medium to large in size, flat-round, with yellow-brown skin and an orange blush. The flesh is characterized as juicy, moderately sweet with a hint of acidity and aroma.

The tree is characterized by early onset of bearing and good yield. The variety shows relative resistance to scab and is intended for fresh consumption. Currently, the plant is found primarily in collection orchards.
