The variety is a historical apple variety common in the Natisone valleys. Genetic studies have confirmed the identity of Zeuka di Rodda with a number of other local names, such as Zeuka di Rucchin, Zeuka di Topolò, and Zeuka di Treppo.

The plant is characterized by good adaptability, although the yield is not always consistent. The variety is sensitive to scab infection, especially on the leaves. The fruit ripening period occurs approximately three weeks after the Golden Delicious variety.

The fruits possess good taste qualities, are suitable for long-term storage in a refrigerator and for processing into juice. Data on tree and crown growth parameters are absent in publications, as the variety is a product of folk selection and not the result of targeted breeding work.
