The variety is characterized by very vigorous growth and forms a large, dense, spreading or flat-rounded crown. The trees are long-lived but enter into fruit bearing late, 10–12 years after planting. The variety possesses good winter hardiness and moderate resistance to scab and powdery mildew.

Harvesting occurs in the second half of October. Consumer maturity is reached in January, with the fruits distinguished by an exceptional capacity for long-term storage. The fruits are small to medium in size, conical, sometimes ribbed, with green-yellow skin and an intense red blush.

The fruit flesh is greenish-white, firm and not very juicy, with a weakly expressed sweet or sour taste. Due to its specific qualities, the fruits are used more often for processing, in particular for drying, and the production of juices, wine, and fruit butter.
