The Mavrelia variety (synonyms: Mavrela, Methonia, Mouratolia) is an autochthonous Greek variety. The plant is characterized by more vigorous and taller growth compared to the Koroneiki variety. The leaves are green, with an average length of about 5.78 cm and a width of 1.33 cm.
The fruits have a cylindrical-conical shape, and the pulp-to-pit ratio is approximately 6.5:1. The oil content in the fruits reaches 19%. The variety is demanding of soil moisture; in case of deficiency, the tree is prone to flower drop. In addition to oil production, the fruits can be used in canned form.
