The variety is traditional to Greece, cultivated primarily on the island of Crete and the Peloponnese peninsula. The fruits have a cylindrical-conical shape and a weight of 1.4–2.2 g; oil content ranges from 15% to 35%. The tree has leaves 6–7 cm long and about 1.1 cm wide, the color of which varies from light green to green.
The variety is well-adapted to the Mediterranean climate, capable of growing in arid conditions and on stony soils, and possesses resistance to diseases and pests. The fruits are used both for producing high-quality olive oil and as table olives.
