The Marons variety is a rare local olive tree cultivar that historically formed in the La Sénia region of Catalonia. The tree possesses a high level of vigor, and its canopy has a semi-erect and dense form.

The fruits of this variety ripen early. The yield is characterized as medium with good regularity of fruiting, while the oil content of the fruits is rated as medium-low. Due to its extremely limited distribution, the variety is considered primarily as an object for the conservation of biodiversity.
