Marmorigna is a local traditional variety cultivated on the island of Sicily. In regional olive production, the variety belongs to the minor category.
Fruits of this variety are used primarily for the production of Extra Virgin olive oil. The variety is often used in blends with other Sicilian varieties, such as Tonda Iblea, Nocellara dell'Etna, Moresca and Biancolilla, to obtain a high-quality product.
