The cultivar represents an autochthonous genetic profile identified during field studies aimed at locating forgotten olive trees in northwestern Spain. The cultivar was described by scientists using botanical methods and molecular markers.

The fruits of this cultivar are characterized by low moisture and volatile matter content. Currently, work is underway to study methods of propagation for the cultivar, including classical cuttings and in vitro micropropagation, as well as to evaluate the performance of the trees in the bioclimatic conditions of the region.
