Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a traditional local cultivar common in the Trentino, Veneto, and Lombardy regions, especially in the Lake Garda area. It has a large number of synonyms, the most well-known of which is Trep. Externally, the plant is a tree with medium-low vigor, a semi-pendulous form, and a sparse, spreading canopy.

The fruits turn black-violet upon ripening; the skin is covered with a waxy bloom and lenticels. The variety is classified as early, with a ripening process that is extended in time and occurs between mid-September and mid-November. The productivity of the variety is evaluated as low and biennial.
