The StopVert genotype was selected in Italy and is used in scientific research as a rootstock resistant to the defoliating pathotype of the fungus Verticillium dahliae. This object is not intended for the production of commercial fruit or oil and is not characterized by maturity or yield indices.
The material is used in laboratory conditions for conducting experiments to assess reactions to pathogens, as well as in work on micropropagation and somatic embryogenesis with the aim of preserving a valuable genetic resource.
