The variety SPACCARELLA, identified as a synonym for the Curatora variety, is a local genetic resource of the Campania region. The tree has weak to medium vigor, forming a canopy of medium density with upward-growing and spreading branches.
This variety belongs to the dual-purpose category and is used both for oil production and as a table olive. The fruits produce oil with a light to medium fruity aroma, notes of almond, artichoke, and grass, low bitterness, and moderate pungency.
The crop exhibits medium resistance to olive peacock spot and olive knot (bacterial canker), however, it is characterized by high susceptibility to the olive fruit fly.
