The medium-sized tree has a spherical crown and reaches five meters in height under typical conditions. Fruits are of medium size and have an elongated or oval shape, turning black or dark purple upon full maturity.
The variety possesses good oil content ranging from 20% to 33%. The resulting oil is valued for its balanced taste with notes of sweetness, slight bitterness, and herbal aromas, as well as for its low level of free acidity.
It is characterized as a tree with medium and alternate bearing. Due to its centuries-long distribution in various regions of Syria and Lebanon, there are variations in genotypes, which may result in minor differences in the morphology and chemical composition of the fruits.
