The variety is autochthonous to the Valencian Community of Spain. It is used both as a monovarietal and in blends, imparting balanced organoleptic properties with fruity notes to the finished oil.

The plant belongs to the traditional crops of the region with typical low but stable yields. The variety is being studied within the framework of scientific research dedicated to susceptibility to anthracnose and olive knot (Pseudomonas savastanoi).
