The shrub has a spreading or dense hemispherical shape, reaching a height of 1.5 to 3 meters. The main decorative value lies in the 3–5-lobed variegated leaves, the color of which may vary depending on the season and planting site, including creamy-yellow spots and margins.
The plant blooms in May-June with small creamy-white flowers collected in corymbose inflorescences; by August-September, follicle fruits ripen on it. The variety is light-loving, smoke- and gas-resistant, and undemanding to soils; however, it loses the decorativeness of its leaf color in case of insufficient light.
A frost-resistant and moisture-loving shrub that does not tolerate waterlogging. In landscape design, it is used for single and group plantings, as well as for forming hedges.
