The plant is a compact shrub reaching about 1 meter in height and width at maturity. The shoots branch well, forming a semi-spreading crown, which prevents lodging. Young foliage has a bright orange-red shade, which transitions into a deep dark burgundy color over time. In early summer, inflorescences with small cream-white flowers bloom.

The variety possesses high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zones 3–4, and tolerates urban environmental conditions well. The plant prefers sunny locations or light partial shade. It is undemanding regarding soil composition and can grow on various soils; however, it requires moderately moist conditions with good drainage, as it does not tolerate waterlogging.
