The variety is traditional for the Bronte region at the foot of Mount Etna. The tree is of medium size, reaching a height of 5 to 15 meters. In Italian cultivation practice, this variety is traditionally grafted onto Pistacia terebinthus rootstock to ensure adaptation to local soil conditions.

Napoletana nuts have an elongated shape with a pointed end and are highly valued for their pronounced aroma and bright green kernel. The variety is characterized as mid-flowering; in the traditional growing area, harvesting is carried out manually at two-year intervals in the period from late August to September.

The variety's production is used primarily in the confectionery industry for the manufacture of creams, ice cream, and pastes, occupying the premium segment of the market due to its organoleptic qualities.
