The PURPLEPAC (ROOTPAC 70) rootstock is a hybrid with a pedigree including almond and peach, as well as, according to some data, Prunus davidiana. The plant is characterized by red foliage and is used as a rootstock for a wide range of stone fruit crops.
The variety possesses resistance to root-knot nematodes Meloidogyne spp. and fungal infections such as Rosellinia necatrix. It is suitable for planting in sites with soil fatigue, exhibits good compatibility with grafted varieties, moderate drought tolerance, and winter hardiness.
