The rootstock was obtained by crossing the almond variety Texas and the peach variety Earlygold. The plant is characterized by a compact vertical crown and leaf shape of an intermediate type between the parent species.
Intensia is adapted to calcareous soils and arid conditions. The rootstock promotes early entry into fruit-bearing for grafted trees, early harvest maturity, and can delay flowering. It has good compatibility with various varieties and facilitates clonal propagation in nurseries by reducing the formation of sylleptic shoots.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
