The rootstock is an interspecific hybrid of almond and peach intended for cultivation in Mediterranean conditions. The plant is characterized by good clonal propagation capacity and demonstrates high growth vigor.
Monegro possesses pronounced resistance to root-knot nematodes of the genus Meloidogyne and high adaptability to calcareous soils, where other rootstocks are often prone to chlorosis. The rootstock is compatible with a wide range of peach and almond varieties, as well as some plum and apricot varieties.
