The rootstock was obtained by crossing the 'Garfi' almond variety and the 'Nemared' peach variety. It is used for grafting peach, nectarine, almond, as well as some types of plum and apricot, promoting early entry of trees into bearing and increasing yield.
A characteristic feature is the red leaves, which facilitates the identification of root suckers. Branches grow vertically in the first year with minimal branching. The rootstock exhibits resistance to root-knot nematodes and tolerates calcareous soils well, but is susceptible to crown gall.
