The variety is part of the Vesuvius germplasm bank and is a product of folk selection adapted to the climatic conditions of Southern Italy. It is included in national biodiversity registers and is studied in scientific collections.
The fruits of the variety are distinguished by a delicate structure, which limits their storage and transport capabilities. The variety is suitable for cultivation in low-input agrotechnical models; in experimental plantings, trees are formed using a vase-shaped system.
