The Pinatubo variety (code designation CA522-1) is mid-season, with fruit ripening occurring on July 20. The tree has medium vigor, forms an upright crown, and bears fruit mainly on short shoots.

The fruits have full coloration, orange flesh, and a sweet, aromatic flavor. The variety is characterized by high and regular yield; the fruits are not prone to cracking under adverse weather conditions. Flowering of the variety in France is observed on March 5.
