The variety was obtained as a result of a breeding program started in 1964 at RIPP, Piešťany. Genetically, the variety is a product of the cross between Vesna and Vegama.
The plant has low vigor. The fruits of the variety meet modern quality requirements for weight, size, skin color, flesh firmness, and sugar content. The fruits are intended for fresh consumption; their suitability for baby food production has also been studied.
