The Velletri apricot is an ancient autochthonous variety, characterized by a tree 6–8 meters tall with a rounded crown. The variety belongs to the late ripening group, while the flowering period occurs early — at the end of February or the beginning of March.

The fruits are small or medium in size, with light orange skin with a reddish blush and sweet, aromatic flesh. The plant is self-fertile and is characterized by resistance to diseases, however, due to early flowering, there is a risk of damage by spring frosts.

The variety is intended for universal use. The fruits are suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing into jams and syrups, as well as for use in cooking.
