The fruits of the variety have an intense orange color; a blush may appear during ripening. The flesh is characterized by juiciness, a sweet taste, and a smooth texture. The tree has moderate vigor.

The variety is self-fertile, but yield increases with cross-pollination. The plant is resistant to diseases, including Plum pox virus (PPV), although in some years it may be affected by bacterial spot. In Canada, the variety is also used as a seedling rootstock.

The harvested crop is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for various types of processing, including canning and jam making.
