The variety is a representative of local Spanish apricot varieties. In scientific literature, it more often appears as an object of study regarding the biological characteristics of flowering and pollination rather than as a new breeding cultivar.

The variety is characterized as self-incompatible, which requires cross-pollination for successful fruit set. It has been established that at temperatures above 25°C, the receptivity of the pistil stigma decreases, which negatively affects fruit set. Studies have also noted the presence of two ovules in the flower ovary of this variety.
