The Velta tree is characterized by vigorous growth and forms a tall, upright crown with strong wood. The variety is cross-pollinated and requires the presence of other apricot varieties flowering at the same time nearby for stable fruiting.

Fruits ripen in early or mid-August. They have a round, slightly flattened shape and reach a weight of 40–50 g. The fruit color is bright orange with a red blush; the flesh is juicy, fine-grained, and aromatic; the stone separates easily.

The variety has good winter hardiness, although flower buds can be damaged by spring frosts, which affects yield. Resistance to diseases is moderate; sunny sites protected from the wind are suitable for planting.
