The variety has the synonyms "Bigarreau Moreau" and "Bigarreau Sandrin". The tree is characterized by medium vigor and a semi-upright crown. The fruits are medium to large in size, heart-shaped, and possess a shiny dark red skin, becoming almost black at full maturity, and firm, juicy flesh with a sweet taste.
The variety is classified as early, with fruits ripening in late May to early June. Due to early flowering, the tree is at risk of damage from late spring frosts. Yield is characterized as irregular and sometimes low.
The variety is self-incompatible and requires pollinators such as Tigre, Ramón Oliva, Marmotte, or Napoléon. The plant is sensitive to moniliosis, anthracnose, and Little cherry virus, yet it exhibits moderate resistance to fruit cracking.
