The Bigarreau noir de Winkler tree has vigorous growth. The fruits have a heart-shaped, expanded form and a dark brown, almost black skin color. The fruit flesh is firm and sweet.

The variety ripens in the second half of June. It belongs to self-incompatibility group II with the S1S3 genotype; the variety's yield is rated as variable or often low.
