Trees of the variety are vigorous, forming a wide spherical crown of medium density, the growth of which slows down with age. The variety is early; harvest ripening occurs in the first half of June.

Fruits are large, with a weight of 7–9 g, acquiring a dark burgundy color upon reaching maturity. The fruit flesh is juicy and has medium density. The variety is characterized by high stable yield.

Bigarreau Burlat is a self-infertile variety, requiring the presence of pollinators for fruit set. The intended use of the fruits is universal; they are suitable for fresh consumption, all types of processing, and winemaking.
