The Sue variety, also known as Bigarreau Sue, was developed as a result of a breeding program in Summerland. The fruits are characterized by a bicolour skin coloration, which was first introduced within this program in 1954.

The plant belongs to the IV sterility group (S2S3). The fruit taste has a pronounced acidity, and the skin coloration is uniform. The variety is used primarily for commercial purposes and is significant for breeding programs.
