The variety is a traditional local plant of the Lazio region, Italy, and is distributed mainly in the provinces of Rieti, Rome, and Viterbo. The trees of this variety are medium-sized with a spreading crown. Due to the peculiarities of the hilly terrain where the variety grows, the harvest is traditionally carried out by hand.

The fruits of the variety are of medium or small size and are distinguished by moderately firm flesh and a pleasant taste. The ripening period of the crop falls between the end of May and the second ten-day period of June. The variety is included in genetic resource registries as an important object for the conservation of agrobiodiversity.
