The variety is an autochthonous chance seedling discovered in the area of Gornje Cerovo, Slovenia. In the 1960s–1980s, it held significant positions in terms of cultivation volume in the Collio region of Italy and the border territories of Slovenia.
It belongs to early varieties; the harvesting period falls in mid-to-late May. The fruits possess medium-good keeping quality during storage. In modern sources, it is mentioned as one of the local traditional varieties.
