The Duracina di Garbagna variety is a local ecotype cultivated in the Val Grue valleys and the municipalities of the province of Alessandria. The plant possesses high vigor and forms a spreading crown.

The fruits of this variety are traditionally used in confectionery production, in particular for making cherry-in-liqueur candies. The variety also serves as a pollinator for the local Bella di Garbagna variety.
