Variety description

10 August 2026

The DURELLA DI CESENA variety, also known as Durella A and Morandina, is a representative of old Italian breeding. In scientific literature, it is most often mentioned as an element of sweet cherry genetic resource collections.

Genetic studies of the variety are focused on determining its S-genotype associated with self-incompatibility. Various allele combinations are indicated for it, such as S1S13 or S3S13, which determines its belonging to the LI group according to the compatibility classification.
