The rootstock was obtained through cloning of Prunus cerasus. It is used in intensive fruit growing for significant suppression of scion growth, allowing trees to reach a height of approximately 2–3 meters. The rootstock is characterized by high precocity and yield.
With high yield, a reduction in fruit size may be observed, which requires specific agrotechnical practices and pruning. Fruit grafted onto this rootstock may be distinguished by good firmness and high dry matter content.
The rootstock is demanding regarding soil conditions, requires mandatory irrigation, and is sensitive to high soil pH, which induces chlorosis. High sensitivity to drought, aphids, certain viruses, and root rot is noted. It has a moderate degree of anchorage in the soil and often requires staking to supports.
