The variety belongs to the duracina (or duroni) group, which is characterized by a dense and firm consistency of the flesh. The fruits have a light color, which is reflected in the name Graffione Bianco. Due to its structural characteristics, the variety is considered optimal for canning, creating syrups, and use in the confectionery industry.

This variety is a historical local variety (landrace) from the Piedmont region, Italy. In terms of maturity, it is a late-ripening variety that matures after the varieties of the tenerine group.
