Grisona is a landrace variety that has been cultivated for centuries in the Italian region of Alessandria, specifically in the Val Grue valley. The variety is not the result of industrial breeding, but represents a part of regional biodiversity.
The fruits of this variety are distinguished by dense, cartilaginous flesh, characteristic of the «duroni» type of sweet cherry. Due to its properties, the variety is traditionally in demand in confectionery production, including for the preparation of cherries in liqueur.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
