The variety is the result of a Canadian breeding program, obtained from crossing Van and Stella varieties. The tree is vigorous, however, productivity and habit can be regulated when using dwarfing rootstocks.
The variety is characterized by self-fertility and can act as a pollinator for other varieties. Fruits reach a weight of 9.5–11 g, have a rounded shape, juicy firm flesh, and are resistant to cracking.
The plant possesses high resistance to a number of fungal diseases, including Wilsonomyces carpophilus and Coccomyces hiemalis, but shows susceptibility to Monilinia. Winter hardiness is estimated as low to medium.
The fruits are universal in purpose and are suitable for fresh consumption, various types of processing, and commercial production.
