The Leipziger Lotkirsche variety is a historical local variety from Germany. Its biological characteristics correspond to the "Lotkirsche" group, which occupies an intermediate position between sweet cherry (Prunus avium) and sour cherry (Prunus cerasus).

The fruits are characterized by the presence of distinct "shoulders," a noticeable suture on the inner side, and a small pistil point. According to the German ripening system, the variety reaches harvest maturity in the 5th week of the season, which corresponds to a medium ripening period.
