The variety is a descendant of the sweet cherry varieties Souvenir des Charmes and Hedelfinger. The fruit has a shiny surface colored from dark red to black-red, and its shape varies from flat to round. The flesh is firm, which ensures satisfactory resistance to cracking; the taste is characterized as sweet and aromatic.

The tree forms a spreading crown with a horizontal arrangement of scaffold branches. Yield is assessed as good, but can be irregular. The variety is self-incompatible (S-alleles S3S9) and blooms in early or mid-early periods. The variety possesses relatively low susceptibility to diseases, in particular Cytospora canker, however, the wood can be sensitive to severe winter frosts.
